Meeting MeetingPlay's #EventProfs: Meet Sarah M.
Being in a technological and event industry – while we at MeetingPlay are hardworking making sure that our clients have the most successful, engaging events with the help of our mobile event app – often times, the world isn’t aware of all the hard work and dedication that goes into providing that. So, we thought we’d get a little bit personal (and quite frankly, transparent) here at MeetingPlay on Friday’s and introduce – Meeting, MeetingPlay. Every Friday we will showcase one of our very own – a member of our team here at MeetingPlay. Want to learn more about how you can join the fun and amazingness that is MeetingPlay? Check out our careers page!
This week we are meeting one of MeetingPlay’s account managers, Sarah M.
At MeetingPlay we oft laugh that Sarah is our tree hugger, yet when you don’t find Sarah hugging trees, you’ll certainly find her working hard to help guide MeetingPlay’s clients along the creation, development, and execution of the mobile event app process. From conception to success – our account managers work hard to make sure MeetingPlay’s clients are not just happy, but delighted with their event app. And Sarah is no exception.
Without further ado, Meet Sarah:
What was your first job – tell us about it.
I worked at Rita’s Italian Ice. At 16 years old, I learned how to make the best gelato in town. My favorite part about that job was taking home all of the incorrect orders from the freezer ;)
Who has influenced you most in your professional path/career?
A great friend of mine whom over the years I’ve seen grow into a knowledgeable archeologist. She has inspired me to be perseverant, hardworking, and taught me that living means to always keep learning.
What’s your favorite part about working in the event technology (or events) industry?
The people. I get to interact and meet all kinds of people! I enjoy receiving positive feedback from clients and attendees, it makes all of the hard work that goes in to making an event come alive worth it.
The travel. Sometimes I get lucky enough to be able to travel for a project. I’ve had the chance to explore N.Y.C, Miami, and D.C.
Creativity and Personal Growth. Working in the event industry has taught me to release my creativity, sense of humor, and tenaciousness.
What career advice would you tell your 18-year-old self, looking back?
Don’t give up when things get tough! Take the risk. Put education first and invest in something you love!
What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not working?
When not hugging trees, I enjoy singing and being out on the water whether it’s the river or the ocean. Sometimes all of these things at once!
Obviously Sarah's talents and creativity help her both inside of MeetingPlay and outside too, and we're surely glad to have Sarah on the team!
