5 Ways to Make the Most Out of Standard App Features

Once you’ve found the app provider that suits your event needs, it’s time to consider how to make the most of it. Often, you'll be looking for specialized features to enhance your branding and wow your attendees. But don’t forget to take advantage of the full range of features, including all of the standard features of most modern event apps. Read on for our tips on how to make the most of your app!

    1. Networking

Networking is almost always a top goal for attendees at events. Enhancing your attendees' networking experience with a customized app can go a long way. However, if your budget won’t allow you to do so, we suggest making the most of QR scanning and content-rich event networkingattendee profiles. Consider the questions that will be asked to generate profiles. Networking-related questions are a fantastic idea. For example, ask your attendees “What is your favorite destination?” or “How long have you been with the company?” Guests can then use the in-app QR code feature for profile sharing via a simple scan. QR codes can also be printed on badges for easy scanning. You can even consider a matching algorithm or attendee bingo to bring networking to the next level.

    2. Sponsor and exhibitor profiles

Most event apps have the ability to create sponsor or exhibitor profiles. If your event doesn’t have a sponsor or exhibitor, this feature can still be utilized. Consider using profile space to share important resources and highlight new developments within the company.

If your event does include sponsors or exhibitors, take these profiles to the next level and generate even more revenue with a rotating banner to highlight top-tier sponsors.

    3. Agenda tracks and tagsAgenda with Tags

If you have multiple sessions taking place at the same time and/or if you’re covering many topics at once, tags and tracks are quite useful. Tags are very effective as they can be customized with color and used for multiple categories. Attendees will be able to filter tags and tracks to find the most suitable sessions. Especially if you have the budget, consider enhancing this feature with customizable personal agendas or breakout scheduling.

    4. Content pages

Your content pages don’t have be limited to text. Make them fun! Include images, such as photos of the venue on your hotel info page. In addition to all of the general event information, include an FAQ section to make it even easier for your attendees. Embedding videos and taking aesthetics into consideration will make for a more engaging user experience.

Mobile Event App Social Feed5. Social feed

Promote posts on the conversation wall for high visibility. Don’t forget to take advantage of this function before and after the event as well. For example, if you host an awards dinner, post photos of the big winners the next day to congratulate them, and keep the photos pinned to the top of the feed. We also encourage you to include a social wall display or live engagement display during the event as these create a big wow for attendees.
