    MeetingPlays #EventProfs: Meet Katie V.

Each Friday on the MeetingPlay blog we like to get a bit personal and share the faces behind the mobile event apps and event registration solutions. From marketing to sales, to account managers, our CEO, COO, CSMO, and now one of MeetingPlay's first interns, Katie V. Katie is a junior at St. Mary's College of Maryland, studying computer science.

    Meet MeetingPlay's #EventProfs, Katie V:

Katie V.1. What was your first job? Tell us about it.

My first job was working at a summer day camp for 6-12-year-old children. At times it was stressful, but it taught me valuable leadership skills. My favorite part about working for the camp was making connections with my co-workers and campers!

    2. Who has influenced you most in your professional path/career?

I would say that the St. Mary’s College of Maryland Computer Science department have influenced my career choices the most. They have encouraged and motivated me to do the best work that I can, but that there’s always room for improvement.

    3. What's your favorite part about working in the event technology (or events) industry?

Although I am new to the event industry, I am excited to intern at MeetingPlay and learn more about event technology. Technology has always been a big interest of mine and getting a chance to work with a specific type of technology is very exciting to me! I know that this internship will provide me with invaluable experiences and knowledge, especially about dealing with such a fast paced industry.

    4. Looking back, what career advice would you tell your 18-year-old self?

Work hard at school and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Make mistakes and learn from them. Don’t worry so much! Everything works out in one way or another!

    5. What's your favorite thing to do when you're not working?

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. Whether it’s going out for coffee with friends or watching a movie with my family, I enjoy the days when I get to relax and be with the people who I hold close and admire greatly.
