    MeetingPlay's #EventProfs: Meet Frank L.

Every Friday we get a bit personal on the MeetingPlay blog, pausing from our typical mobile event app and advice for event professionals  - and instead highlight one of the many faces behind all the hardwork that MeetingPlay does.

This week we're meeting Frank L. Frank is the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for MeetingPlay -  an ambitious and driven leader, always willing to help others grow and succeed! Meet Frank:

    1. What was your first job – tell us about it.

My very first job was lining baseball fields and cutting the grass when I was 10 years old, where I was paid $5 per field and got to ride a tractor mower (pretty cool!). During high school, my first job was working at DQ. During college, I worked in the factory for summer jobs at Hershey’s Ice Cream (started at 5 a.m., 40 hours in 4 days, 58 hours per week, $4.25/hour) and then IBM as an intern my last 2 years of college. After graduating, my  first post college job was at Triad Systems Corp reselling IBM pc to the automotive parts market (I got to spend 6 months in Sunnyvale CA for training which was awesome!).

    2. Who has influenced you most in your professional path/career?

My father and then my first manager, Todd Spare.  Both were very good mentors and taught me the value of hard work, respecting and caring for clients, and to make sure to be yourself.

    3. What's your favorite part about working in the event technology (or events) industry?

I would say the people and the energy that events generate.  Most events are exciting, and create the ‘wow’ moments that we all like to be a part of.

4.Looking back, what career advice would you tell your 18-year-old self?

Find a good mentor (or two); they are invaluable to your learning experience and education.  Plus, make sure to ask lots of questions and listen.

frank2.jpg5. What's are your favorite things to do when you're not working?

Spend time with my wife, Linda and our sons;  play tennis;  listen to music; take hikes with Linda.  Basically, spend as much time as possible doing things vs. sitting on the couch (haha)… and it needs to be fun!

Clearly - Frank is an active and hardworking person, both as part of MeetingPlay's team, and in life. We're sure glad to have Frank as part of the MeetingPlay team! Thanks Frank!

MeetingPlay is expanding, and we want to add you to the team! Want to learn more about the most engaging mobile event app and join the team?
